20 Unique Ways to Use Perfume Oils
Perfume oils are a subtle, close to the skin experience that is pleasing for everyone and a few drops can easily be applied to pulse points. But they can also be used in many different ways.
- Put a few drops on a cotton ball, put in your pillowcase for sweetly scented dreams.
- Fill your tea-light diffuser bowl with water and add a few drops of oil.
- Fill your bathtub with warm water and add a few drops of oil. Throw in some Epsom salts to soothe tired muscles.
- Add a few drops to a spray bottle, fill the rest of the way with water. Shake and spray your linens, rooms, hair, clothes, car and closets.
- Add a few drops to a cotton ball and vacuum it up. Every time you vacuum, your house will smell great.
- Add a few drops to baking soda and mix well. Sprinkle on your carpet before you vacuum for a quick carpet refresher.
- For robot vacuums, or any vacuum, just put a scented cotton ball in the dirt bin.
- Put a few drops on your cloth car floor mats or place a scented cotton ball under your car seats.
- Fill your electric tart warmer bowl with water, add a few drops of oil and turn it on.
- If you use wool fabric softener balls, put a few drops on the ball and have yummy smelling laundry.
- Put a few drops on a paper towel and tuck into your shoes.
- Put a few drops on a wooden clothespin and attach to your car vents. Or home vents. Or a fan.
- Add a few drops of oil to baking soda, mix well. Sprinkle in the bottom of your trash can.
- Sprinkle a few drops on your furnace filter.
- Put a few drops on a cotton ball and tuck into your drawer corners to prevent musty smelling clothes and linens.
- Quick and easy room potpourri, just fill a bowl with rice and mix in about 10-15 drops of oil. Place anywhere you want scented.
- Make your own sugar or salt or combo scrub. An easy recipe is 3 ozs. of sugar/salt, 1 oz. of oil (can be any household oil, olive, coconut, etc.) and 10 drops of scented oil. Stir well and use to exfoliate your skin.
- Get an unscented tea-light candle and put a few drops of oil near the wick. Light the candle and enjoy the scent.
- Put a few drops on a damp washcloth and throw in your dryer with your towels, sheets and blankets.
- When you change the toilet paper, put a few drops in the inside of the toilet paper tube.
