20 Unique Ways to Use Perfume Oils

Sue Faunt6 comments

Perfume oils are a subtle, close to the skin experience that is pleasing for everyone and a few drops can easily be applied to pulse points. But they can also be used in many different ways.

  1. Put a few drops on a cotton ball, put in your pillowcase for sweetly scented dreams.
  2. Fill your tea-light diffuser bowl with water and add a few drops of oil.
  3. Fill your bathtub with warm water and add a few drops of oil. Throw in some Epsom salts to soothe tired muscles.
  4. Add a few drops to a spray bottle, fill the rest of the way with water. Shake and spray your linens, rooms, hair, clothes, car and closets.
  5. Add a few drops to a cotton ball and vacuum it up. Every time you vacuum, your house will smell great.
  6. Add a few drops to baking soda and mix well. Sprinkle on your carpet before you vacuum for a quick carpet refresher.
  7. For robot vacuums, or any vacuum, just put a scented cotton ball in the dirt bin.
  8. Put a few drops on your cloth car floor mats or place a scented cotton ball under your car seats.
  9. Fill your electric tart warmer bowl with water, add a few drops of oil and turn it on.
  10. If you use wool fabric softener balls, put a few drops on the ball and have yummy smelling laundry.
  11. Put a few drops on a paper towel and tuck into your shoes.
  12. Put a few drops on a wooden clothespin and attach to your car vents. Or home vents. Or a fan.
  13. Add a few drops of oil to baking soda, mix well. Sprinkle in the bottom of your trash can.
  14. Sprinkle a few drops on your furnace filter.
  15. Put a few drops on a cotton ball and tuck into your drawer corners to prevent musty smelling clothes and linens.
  16. Quick and easy room potpourri, just fill a bowl with rice and mix in about 10-15 drops of oil. Place anywhere you want scented.
  17. Make your own sugar or salt or combo scrub. An easy recipe is 3 ozs. of sugar/salt, 1 oz. of oil (can be any household oil, olive, coconut, etc.) and 10 drops of scented oil. Stir well and use to exfoliate your skin.
  18. Get an unscented tea-light candle and put a few drops of oil near the wick. Light the candle and enjoy the scent.
  19. Put a few drops on a damp washcloth and throw in your dryer with your towels, sheets and blankets.
  20. When you change the toilet paper, put a few drops in the inside of the toilet paper tube.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my oils from Somethinspecial!! I buy unscented lotion, creams, shampoos, conditioners and add drops of oil to my liking. I also use the felt things you put on the bottom of chairs (they have sticky backs) and put drops on them and stick to the inside of my trashcan lid, inside cupboard doors, in closets, crawl spaces, even on vents. Put some on scent free dryer sheets and place the dryer sheet in the heat distributing vents, lots of ideas! I just go through the oil way too fast and love them! Please never stop caring my scent! (Sand and sun!)
